Push Firmware Release Notes

How to update Push's Firmware?

If you connect Push and your firmware is not up-to-date, Live will prompt you to update the firmware. If nothing happens, your firmware is already up-to-date.

General Troubleshooting Tips

If a problem occurs during the update process, don't panic. It is always possible to restore Push's firmware. In general, consider the following steps to reduce the potential for error:

  1. Make sure Push is the only MIDI device connected.
  2. Don't run the update on a computer with low battery.
  3. Make sure you have a stable USB connection. The cable shouldn't be too long. It's best to connect Push directly to your computer, rather than via a USB hub.

If Push Shows an Error

Follow the steps below if Push's display shows an error during or after the firmware update. (If Push's display is blank, see the next section.)

Note for Windows 8 users only: Restart Live before following the steps below.

  1. Turn Push off, then back on.
  2. Press Push's Select button when instructed to do so on the display.
  3. In a few moments, Live will show a message box with instructions for updating the firmware again.
  4. When instructed to do so on Push's display, press the Select button on Push.

If the Display is Blank

Some firmware update errors may cause Push to stop working entirely. When turning Push on, the display will be blank and all LEDs will be off. Follow the steps below to fix this.

Note for Windows 8 users only: Restart Live before following the steps below.

  1. Turn Push off.
  2. Press and hold the Shift button on Push.
  3. Turn Push on while holding the Shift button, and continue holding the Shift button.
  4. In a few moments, Live will show a message box with instructions for updating the firmware again.
  5. When instructed to do so on Push's display, press the Select button on Push.
  6. Release Push's Shift button.

Where can I see Push's Firmware Version?

Close all instances of Live, hold the "Play" button and turn on Push to get information about your Push's firmware version displayed on the bottom-right side of Push's LCD-display.
