What to do if Live does not authorize
- Live Versions: 8 - 9
- Operating System: ALL
- Live does not authorize
- The following error message is displayed: "Live is not installed"
With some browsers, e.g. Firefox, there are problems associating the correct software to open for authorization requests. Therefore these browsers might not recognize that Live is installed.
Please try the authorization with another browser.
In the past we had good experiences with Google Chrome. You can download Chrome right here.
When you launch Google Chrome for the first time, it will ask you if you want to make it your standard browser. Please confirm this.
If you don't want to set Chrome as your standard browser, you can also manually copy the URL from the Ableton.com authorization page, and paste it into Chrome. Eventually this will ask you to log-in again with your ableton.com account.
In case the online authorization does not work with Google Chrome either, you can still perform the offline authorization. You will find further instructions in Live's Preferences -> Licenses / Maintenance : "Authorize offline".
