Live 8 database disk image is malformed, corrupt index

  • Live-Versionen: 8
  • Betriebssystem: ALL

Symptom

The error message 'Database disk image is malformed, corrupt index' shows up, while e.g.:

  • record enabling tracks
  • installing Live Packs
  • saving presets to the Library
  • accessing the Library
  • saving a Live Set
  • exporting (audio, video, MIDI, etc…) 

Solution

Close Live and delete all files in these folders:

  • Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Ableton\Cache\Index\
  • Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Ableton\Live 8.x.x\Database\
  • Windows Vista/7: C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Ableton\Cache\Index\
  • Windows Vista/7: C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Ableton\Live 8.x.x\Database\
  • Mac OS X: Macinstosh HD:/Users/[username]/Library/Caches/Ableton/Index
  • Mac OS X: Macinstosh HD:/Users/[username]/Library/Application Support/Ableton/Live 8.x.x/Database/


Delete the files 'Library.cfg', 'Preferences.cfg' which can be found here:

  • Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Ableton\Live 8.x.x\Preferences\
  • Windows Vista/7: C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Ableton\Live 8.x.x\Preferences\
  • Mac OS X: Macinstosh HD:/Users/[username]/Library/Preferences/Ableton/Live 8.x.x/Preferences/

Start Live and repair the Library in the Library tab of Live's Preferences.
