Why does it say Sample offline?

A sample in my set doesn't play. The browser says "sample offline" and doesn't show a wave form. However, when I stop Live, I can play the same sample as located in the file browser with Windows Media Player - it is clearly there. Any ideas?

Sample offline means Live can't find the file. This could be for any number of reasons, like if you renamed a folder or moved the file.

Go to File > Manage Files...

    Choose the option Manage Set

Along with other things there, you should see a list of missing files along with some options to locate them.

    file - Manage Live Set.

panel opens up on the right to help you locate the sample.

I really don't like this part of Live, check the manual on how to navigate this feature.

I search separately for the file on my PC; then drag and drop it into the missing files list.  Not into the set.  It automatically appears in the set with all the edits intact.
