Which addons/packs are installed?

I read something about this but cannot find the thread on the forum.

In Live8 when you went to your Addons/Licenses in the software preferences it use to show a list of what was installed and licensed. Now it just says "Ableton Suit 9 + 17 Addons licensed".

I can see on the ableton site all my packs and can download them all but how can I tell (without picking through everything) what is installed or not.

Additionally, I have upgraded and linked my live 8 library fine but I read if I install the updated packs for 9 the content will appear in the browwser, not just the places section. This is why I want to see what is installed and what needs to be installed for my license. So confusing.

    if it says them in the preferences they really have been installed.  the way to know if they are usable is to simply try and use them.  theyre under things such as simpler, analog, drum machines, on live 8.

    Atleast on live 8 when under preferences i know mine says theyve been installed.

    Yep, Know exactly where they install and where they appear (or use to in Live 8) but the issue is it does NOT tell you in Prefs what packs are installed. Instruments are easy. I can see what is installed and if I go into packs I can also see what is installed BUT all my content from Live8 is just in a Live8 "legacy" folder and I cannot tell what is actually installed. It would be great for the prefs to list what is registered under your licenses and tell you what is installed or not.

    Sorry I couldn't help you.  I don't have Live 9.  I've asked Tech support before on some version and they said to go through the Live device Browser and look.  Perhaps you could just redoanload the pack you need to use when you need to use it.  UNtil then it may not be missed.

    On mac, you can look at the "Properties.cfg" inside the pack folder. To do that, you will have to do a right-click then "open package content").

    There will be a "Ableton Folder Info" folder in it: this is where you will find the "Properties.cfg" file that you can open with a text editor to look at the revision of the pack. There will be a line that look like:

        Int PackRevision = 32873;

    A "technical" way to show the revision for all the packs would be to use the following command in a terminal:

        grep PackRevision ~/Music/Ableton/Factory\ Packs/*/Ableton\ Folder\ Info/Properties.cfg

    This will search for the line "PackRevision" in the "Properties.cfg" of every factory pack installed in your home directory and print it.

    If you click on "Packs" in the Live 9 browser you can see all the packs that are currently installed.
