Using a MIDI foot pedal to control Tap Tempo

OK, this is pretty specific. I'm using the ipad app Touchable (great app!) to run Ableton in my band. I'd like to give my drummer control over two functions -- tap tempo and stop. Any advice for pedals, MIDI devices, etc. that will help me do this? (I'm also wondering about the best way to run these pedals at the same time as Touchable.)

The BCR2000 has 2 inputs for foot controller and is very versatile & simple configurable.

The Logidy UMI3 is a super-simple, sturdy and cheap 3-button foot switch. Sends straight MIDI, and requires no software. Amazon sells them for $69.

I'm looking for the same thing... I'm amazed no big companies make a single little midi pedal with a note-assign function. I have found Roland, Bringher and Yamaha make Midi Foot Controllers but make them primarily for use with their guitar fx units. Apart from being big pedalboards, i'm not sure if these could work as we need.
