Upgrade from Standard to Suite. CAN'T LOCATE MY PROJECTS!!! PLEASE HELP!

I just upgraded from standard to Suite and I can't seem to find any of my projects.  They still appear in grey under "open recent set", but I can't locate them.  I contacted Ableton, and got some help, which was to search my PC for Ableton Live project under "type" in the status.  They aren't there either.  It is hours upon hours of work, and I just can't seem to locate the projects, i unfortunately have no idea where i saved them.  Please help me out if you can.  Freaking out here!!!

regards,

Craig.

That really sucks man.... But theoretically upgrading shouldn't affect your projects. The program is upgraded, but older stuff like libraries don't disappear, since they are in different folders on your computer. If the projects are greyed out, that usually means that Live can't find them in the location they were before. I've seen this issue before on Windows pc's and it is usually caused by the fact that you placed your project folder inside the Live program folder. By upgrading, that whole folder is messed up. So unfortunately i can't help you get them back. Make sure you never put projects and plugins inside the Live program folder and always install Live in the default folder (which is 'hidden'). Your only hope is to do a manual search and maybe use a recovery program to retrieve changed programs and files. If you are very lucky it can sometimes be caused (happened to me once) by changed folder properties (read/write settings). But that is a very small chance. So maybe try that file recovery and move the recovered files to a different location afterwards. A setback to an earlier restore point of your PC might also work. Hope you get it fixed man! Really messed up situation.

I was able to retrieve some lost files using a program called 'Recuva'. Make sure you don't overwrite anything for now and use a recovery program a.s.a.p. or try a restore. Probably your only hope. Hope it helps!
