Tap tempo

Hello.

I have Live 9 Intro.

I am a completely newbie, so I need a simple, the 1-2-3, answers! :)

  1. I want to assign my Yamaha keyboard's left pedal to tap the tempo. When I wish to assign a midi controller to the tempo tap, nothing happens. I can assign for instance a key (on my computer) but my pedal doesn't assign at all. The keyboard is connected properly and I can record in Live 9.
  2. I have managed to assign a key to tap the tempo, but when I playback the tempo is constant (120). How do I record the tapping of the tempo (and the changes of it)?

    Hi,

Please make sure you have the Arrangement Record Button activated as you play and tap the tempo. The changes to tempo will be recorded as automation into the arrangement.

Regarding your first question, make sure Live is actually receiving the MIDI signals coming from the keyboard pedal - if it does, the MIDI Track In Indicator in the upper right corner should light up each time you press the pedal. If this is not the case, please contact our Support directly.

    Hello.

Live is receiving the MIDI signals. When I press the middle or left pedal it lights. I can record in to Live the sustain pedal as well.

The only thing I cannot is to get Live map any key from keyboard, even the keys or pedals.

    1. I press Cmd+M
    2. Everything gets blue
    3. I click on the Tempo button, which is colored
    4. I press a key on the MIDI keyboard or press a pedal. In the upper corner flashes light each time I do it.
    5. In the Mapping Browser happens nothing.

    Finally I have discovered!

In the Preferences - MIDI Sync, the input should also sync! Now it works.
