Struggling Setting up midi with non ableton plugins. Help!

I have an akai MPK 49 midi controller connected via usb to my macbook. With Ableton plugins everything is mapped to my controller and working well. I have purchased UHe's Diva soft synth. Whats the best way to use it with my controller? When I assign controls to Diva then it affects my settings with Abletons mapping.

I also purchased Arturia's SEM soft synth. When i manually map the SEM to the MPK and move a midi knob on the controller, unwanted adjustments are being made on Diva as well. I feel like i need to separate some channels or something but how? There is an Ableton Live Lite preset i have selected that when using Ableton plugins. It is on channel 1A.

Note: i have a weak internet connection and can't watch youtube videos for help. I have read manuals but still struggle. Just wanted to note also that i have activated the 'remote' option in the midi settings.

Load up Diva. Open Info View (?)

Click on the title bar to select it. Hit cmd G/ctrl G to rack it up.

You will see a column appear to the left. Hover your mouse over the second button from the top and read Info View: Show Hide Macro Controls

    Click on it

You will see a box appear with 8 knobs.

Click the box at the top that says Map Mode

Hit cmd alt B to open the Browser if it's not already open

Click the spanner to open Diva's GUI.

    Click Cutoff in Diva

Click Map in the first Macro box

    Look at the Browser.

You have mapped Frequency to Macro 1. You can adjust the range it can go to there.

Look at Cutoff in Diva. Note that it's value has dropped to zero. You need to note settings first if you want to keep them.

Macro 1 is now labelled freq. You can colour code it.

Many devices have 8 knobs and will automatically control 8 macro knobs if you select the device title bar.

I can't help you with the Akai, I'm strictly Novation and User Scripts. But a simple solution is to do your sound design the basic GUI way, and then Rack up, controlling it as a Live device. Have you done that before?

No but it sounds interesting though. What do you mean by rack up?
