Sinc two laptops via ethernet?

I have looked a lot around but still no definite answer on how to sync two laptops with Ableton Live installed to get that perfect synchronisation between them. I've tried MIDI but things shifted away from each other after a while. Some people mention ethernet but looks complicated. Any fresh suggestions? Thanks for any info.

Picture this: two people, two laptops running Ableton Live, one person triggers rhythm loops, the other melodies and arpegiator sounds. All perfectly synchronized. But how? Eternet? It has to be flawless for a live situation. Is it clear?
