Remote devices MIDI port & Mapping

I mapped a knob from my keyboard. It happens to be the same channel number and Control Change than a knob on another keyboard, so that other knob is also controlling that parameter.

Isn't Live mapping taking into account MIDI port ?

No. live does not take into account midi ports. All ports are grouped as if one midi controller, which is really too bad, and would have been really nice with the update, but it just didn't happen. The most removed that you can get in ableton is the channels. beyond that, there's not much you can do. You can create a feedback loop and change the midi channel on your devices. That may help with what you are doing.

Mapping is a central thing in Live. Fonctionalities should be extended.

it is fairly easy to work around them. It could be helpful, but possibly less fun as well.

Well, I am using the same hardware devices in different situations. For efficiency reasons as well as to reduce the risk of error, I can't imagine remapping hardware outs every time.
