Push 2 won't work connected to a hub, that is connected to an iConnectAudio4+

By chance has anyone else tried using an iConnectAudio4+ audio interface with Push 2 and a powered USB hub?  The iCA4+ is supposed to support up to 8 devices on a powered hub that hangs off of the interface, but I'm finding that Push 2 can't be recognized by Ableton in this configuration.  Anyone else tried it?

    Hi there,

We generally recommend to use direct USB ports of your computer, but in case this is not an option, you should at least use the AC adapter that comes with Push, in case the hub does not supply sufficient power for Push.

    Hope this helps,

I am absolutely using the AC adapter of course, so that's not the issue.  I have further confirmed that Push won't even work connected directly to the iCA4+, without the hub.  So the hub is also not the issue.  It seems Push cannot work with an iCA4+ Audio Interface.  This is extremely disappointing, I'll relay my findings to iConnectivity as well and see what they say.

Apparently the issue is that Push uses Python, and therefore must be connected directly to the host computer and not through any external device (other than a normal hub also connected directly to the computer).  Major bummer but, I guess that's just the way it is.

    Hi,

It also will not work with roland jdxi and Roland Vt-3 if you want it to stream audio via usb port1.

I have push2 connected to a powered usb hub along with my jdxi and Vt3.This is in turn connect to  the computer usb1.

    In Usb2 i have the iconectAUDIO4 connected.

In host port 1 of iconnectAUDIO4 i have a usb midi compliant device(nanokontrol2) connect.

This is not an ideal set up for Push2 sometimes locks up and needs a powered reset and with the recent firmware update it occurs more.

I too am frustrated, but my music is still magic :)

Can't get it to work just using a USB 3.0 extension cable. Super irritating because the cable it came with is so short i had to rearrange my entire desk just to get it on there

Yes, I have found the same thing!!!   I went out and bought a High Quality powered hub and it still is an issue!!!

    Two things to note:

    1) This is ONLY an issue on Windows 10 as far as I can tell.  This is NOT an issue with Apple devices.

    2)  It appears to be something new since the latest upgrade of Windows 10.   I had it working fine before....  In truth it worked fine on a hub .. then due to a completely separate issue, I had a catastrophic Hard drive failure and I had to do a clean install of the latest  build of Windows 10.   After that,  I can Only get the push to display when directly connected to the PC  ...  No HUB works.. no matter what I try!

I should also point out that I have verified that Push2  does transmit  MIDI,  it just will not show the display (only push logo)

If you've already tried the advice from Ableton that is found here ( https://help.ableton.com/hc/en-us/articles/209072529 ) and that doesn't fix the problem of Push 1/2 not working, then try this ...

    1) While the Device Manager might say your drivers are up-to-date when you click on them to update (as Ableton suggests), there's a very strong chance they probably still are not up-to-date.

    2) Try this:
Download the Driver Downloader from http://www.driverupdate.net/lp/4/?partner=1521&p2=^SW2^xdm532&sub_id=US_300x250

    Or from: http://www.drivers.com/

Run and Install DriverUpdate. It's $29.99 and worth every penny.
I'm willing to bet that will fix it for you, as I ran into the same issues.

    Hope that helps ....
