Are you by chance running one of the new AMD APU's?

I have the same issue and I run:

    AMD A8-5600K Trinity 3.6GHz (3.9GHz Turbo) Socket FM2 100W Quad-Core

Was hoping it's gonna be fixed in v9.0.3, but no luck unfortunately... I also run an AMD FX powered desktop.

I have the same problem, and I run on an Intel i7 3930K.

I can use the reverb when I insert it, but the next time I try to load the project with the convolution reverb, Live shuts down immediately when the project's been loaded.

Official fix released for Max. My support response from ableton staff:

    Dear User,

You were recently in contact with Ableton Support to report an issue with Max for Live that caused Live to crash.

The issue involved certain Max for Live devices which used the Gen module, such as Convolution Reverb and Granulator II.

The crashes were taking place due to a compatibility issue between this module and certain AMD processors (specifically from the AMD-FX line): we are happy to announce that Cycling '74 has just released an update for Max which addresses this bug.

Max 6.1.3 is out now and can be downloaded directly from your User Account at ableton.com:  https://www.ableton.com/account/

We apologize for any inconvenience this caused you, and please feel free to get back to us should you need any further assistance.

    Take care,

    Marco Tonni

The latest version is 9.0.2. I can't find a document detailing the changes between versions, but it's probably a good start to make sure you have the latest version. They may have fixed something related to this.

    Granulator crashes Live.

    On osx 10.6.8.
