No audio after Win 7 update

Hi all,

Not strictly a Live question but I'm desperate for help and can't find an answer anywhere.

I have Ableton Live 9, a brand new i5 PC running Windows 7 and a PreSonus Firebox audio interface connecting to the PC via FireWire.

Occasionally, when I get Windows updates the audio breaks and it never comes back.

This issue has already happened to me four times within a couple of months. The first time it happened I rebuilt the machine. Since then, every time it happened I had to do a System Restore. However, this time even System Restore won't fix the audio.

I suspect it's a Win 7 issue that installs some driver that messes up my external audio interface. The onboard card is a VIA audio.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Yes I have windows 7 Pro. With TC Impact Twin firewire.  MY firewire card is a Ti intrument,

What I had to do is go to Computer and go to Drivers.  Select Drivers and search for Drivers already on machine in Windows 7 PRO.  Select Legacy drivers.

You may need windows 7 PRO supposedly or greater.

    Computer-System Properties-Device Manager-IEEE 1394 Bus Host Controllers-search for drivers already installed-legacy drivers

perhaps you can search for them on internet before hand if you don't have Windows Pro.
