Live 9.6 Crashing - "A Serious System Error Has Occurred"

Hello, i'm having a problem with my Ableton Live 9 v9.6, the most recent track i've been working on will no longer open, I get a message saying "A Serious System Error Has Occurred" and Live then closes. This is the same for the most recent tracks i've been working on but I can open older ones it seems.

I'm on a Samsung Series 9 Ultrabook running Windows 10 (Windows 10 since January with no Ableton issues until now), latest version of Live also, v9.6. I've uninstalled Live, downloaded v9.6 and reinstalled it but still have the same issue, i've installed no new plugins etc for several months, just in case however i've removed all the VSTs from Live and tried again without them associated but I still get the same error message.

All log files emailed to Ableton but I don't think they work at the weekend and I need to work on the track I can't open.

Any suggestions please?

Same thing happening for me since yesterday. On a MBP (2011 i think) with OS10.7.5. and suite 9.6. Both 32bit and 64bit do this. I did a couple of days ago install The Mangle from Sound Guy. Amazing granular instrument. But something went wrong, i have tried to remove the plug in but does not seem to help.

I run OS 10.8.5 And recently I also started to have crashes on my 32bit ableton. Just started a new project with almost no plugins loaded and the crashes can come when I load a new instrument or when i'm opening a plugin.

    What is the problem here?

This crashes are called "The Magic Side Of Live 9". If you have Max For Live in addition to this, you will be able to write a polyphonic symphony of crashes that may launch your career!

    Hi Guys,

Had a similar problem, same message at starting up live. Ableton Support have been great at analysing the crash report, had an answer within 36h.

In my case it was Sylenth1 plugin. It was crashing the new version 9.6 of ableton. I uninstalled it and Live works like b4 again. Have not tried the updated version of Sylenth1 yet.

My live has been crashing every 5 minutes for the past half hour when i try finding the issue by changing sample rates, or audio sources, it turns off my audio unit on restart and crashes when selected as the output source, it crashes randomly just while playing music... WHAT THE F. I dont even have a huge set with tons of VSTs but the more I've added the worse it's gotten. It doesnt peak over 40% CPU usage so idk wtf its issue is and I've reported crashes all day for the past 3 days it seems....
