How do I transfer sounds from Garage Band to Ableton

Hey everyone,

I'm sorry,I'm very new to the Ableton software..I currently have Ableton Live Lite.

I was wondering how to transfer all the keyboard and drum kits from Garage Band to Ableton.I was able to at least locate the  Instrument library of Garage band and "transfer" it to ableton....i think. But when I try access the sounds in ableton, the folders are empty.I'm not sure what to do or what I'm doing wrong.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thank you!!

I'm pretty sure you can't do this because Garageband's instruments are in their own format.

You can, however, sequence parts for them in Garageband and then render them to audio tracks which you can load up in Live. Garageband's "Freeze Tracks" feature actually creates per-track stems which you can find if you right-click the .band files and explore them. I think the option is called "View Package Contents" or something like that. It's been a while since I've tried it.

The way i transfered my drum kits was by sampling each individual sound and sending it to itunes. But just tune the sound to exactly you want to hear. Like for example ( i sampled five claps. Each with a 10% incline on the reverb. I did the same thing with the echo, and also with my snares. Once you use them on ableton they will sound a lil' off, so you have to tune them to your hearing. Good luck
