How to have a note play according to a rhythm

Hi is there a way to get a note that I hold down to trigger itself according to a rhythmic patter that I describe. For example the sound at the beginning of "Bizarre Love Triangle" by New Order could be played in this way by holding down a single note per key change. At the moment I am using a gating technique using clip envelopes, but this doesn't work well for piano sounds and other sounds that have a big initial attack. Thor and Albino have this kind of feature and I was hoping to use this kind of thing directly in Live.

Thanks

Pete

Do you mean something like an arpeggiator? Live has a midi-instrument for that: just drop it in your device chain.
Or do you mean something else?

Hi, I don't mean like an arpeggiator. I mean retriggering the same note in a rhythmic way that I define which will keep looping as long as I am holding down a key (and I am able to switch notes without losing my place in the loop (like with live's cilp legato setting perhaps?)). Thor in Reason has this kind of functionality I think.

    Hope that makes sense.
