How do I find the location in my library, of a MIDI file used in a project?

Hello,

I don't know if anyone encountered this issue before.

I imported a midi file which I am currently using in a project. I am trying to find the location of this midi file in my sample library. Is there any way of doing this?

Unfortunately, the midi file doesn't have a name which could be an indication from where I imported this midi file from. My samples library is big and unorganized and I want to avoid going through hundreds of midi files and previewing them one by one.

Any solution for this?

Thanks!

Open up your set, click File -> "Manage Files" -> Manage Set -> View Files, and then you should be able to expand stuff out, view them in the Ableton Browser or File System Explorer/Finder.

    Thanks for the reply.

The midi file's location doesn't come up (or the midi file itself) because it was saved in the als project. There is no option by right-clicking similar to audio files to show it in the explorer. Am I missing something?

I never realised that. I guess, other than trawling through all  your files, your other option is to File -> "Export Midi Clip", assuming there is a clip in your project that is equivalent to that original file.
