How do I access the MIDI used in a drum kit preview?

When I highlight a drum kit in the browser selection pane, and press the left arrow key or click the small waveform just beneath the browser selection pane, it plays back a short sample of that drum kit. I think to have found the audio of that preview in a .ogg file, but where can I find the MIDI? I would like to do some slight reconstruction of that original preview, and just re-creating it by ear myself is fairly difficult. Where is the MIDI?

Can you share where you found the audio for these preview clips?

    Hi there,

As you already realised, those are only audio files with the intention to give you an idea about the sound of the kit.

However, if you own the full version of Live, you can use this audio clip in Live and use our "drums to MIDI" feature ( right-click the clip -> drums to MIDI ), which should give you the MIDI notes of the clip in question.

    Hope this helps,
