how can i get rid of the delay from the time i say something into the mic to hearing it in my headphones?

I just bought an audio interface that included Live 8.2.4  I can't get rid of the 1/2 sec delay from mic to headphones.  how can I get it to allow the sound to hit my ears in realtime?

It depends a bit on your set up. If you can, some audio interfaces have a way to mix between the signal coming from the computer and a live feed of what's coming into the box. In which case, you turn your track to monitor off in Ableton and use the live feed from the box itself to monitor your performance (which has a much lower latency, not needing to pass through your machine).

Install ASIO4ALL or another ASIO driver associated with your interface.

go to ableton preferences and turn down your latency under the "audio" tab i believe go around 100 ms depending on your interface of course
