focusrite forte or apogee duet 2 ???

Hi !

I'm about to buy a new audio interface and I'm going mad because I can't decide...
Focusrite Forte or Apogee Duet 2 ? (or somehing else but max 600 dollars). I want something mobile with great sound.
Which one has the "warmest" sound ? (especially in the headphone's output). But the most important thing for me is STABILITY. I once had a Roland (on windows) and it drove me mad !

I already have a Focusrite pro 24 dsp (which I wil sell) and I've never had a single problem with this unit so I really trust this company but Apogee has good reviews too and it's focused on Mac users so I'm confused.
Plus, apogee duet is IPad compatible now...
However, Forte really looks better (that's not so important, i know...) and the speakers outputs are directly on the interface (not need for the breakout cable for that).
I'm working on a Macbook 13" mid 2010 with 8gb Ram and core 2 duo 2.4ghz

Thanks in advance for your answers !

I tested the two side by side with some Beyer DT990 headphones.  Playback on the headphones sounded so similar it was impossible to tell the difference.

I might lean towards the Focusrite for the preamps myself.

As for stability and performance, have you considered the RME Babyface?  (Plus if you boot them in class compliant mode, it can run on an iPad)

Hi James ! Thanks a lot for your message. I actually had forgotten I wrote this post... I was probably drunk.

Do you think there's a big difference between the saffire pro 24 dsp and the forte or the duet 2 ?
My main concern is for recording guitar and having the best possible sound in my headphones.
I'm even more hesitating now because some bad news led me to be careful with money lately...
    Cheers
