Does anybody know why InstallHelper.exe pops up when opening Live?

Running windows 7, Abe's 8.2.8.  Asks for permission for an unknown publisher to make changes to computer etc. File is called InstallHelper.exe

Is this and Ableton file or something else?

ok...some news: seems indeed to be the auto-update process doing its thing.  The "problem" started when the new version was released last week. Just to be sure I downloaded the full installer from the website and did the update. Everything's back to normal.

Still, I don't like unsigned installers popping up suddenly.

    Same question here.

This behaviour started like 2 days ago (Win 7, latest Ableton release)

Before, Ableton would just open up. I always decline and then Ableton starts up.

Using unsigned installers demanding admin privileges seems a bit...hm...unprofessional.

Anybody noticed this behaviour as well?

Yeah, same here. Like a week ago this thing started popping up every time I open Live. What is it? Don't want to let it do it's thing till I know what it does.

Could be a VST that is trying to do that. You could temporarily rename your VST folder to check if that is the case.
