Distortion going fuzzy with Boss GT-10 while recording?

Hey guys I recently bought a Boss GT-10 Multi-effects processor and tried hooking it up with ableton live 8 line 6 edition (I used to use a POD UX1 but didn't like the distortions on that). The clean channels sound great but whenever I try recording the distortion it sounds very digital and has almost a static sound; but only if I arm the track does it do this. If I don't arm any tracks it sounds fine, only when I try to record.

My setup is plugging my GT-10 into my computers USB port and another cord going straight into my speakers.

It sounds like perhaps you're experiencing digital clipping - when you record in with distortion, is the track meter in Live turning red? Try turning down the pre-amp on the POD, and see if that helps.

    Hey, thanks for the response.

When I am trying to record the track meter does stay green, and I tried turning down the pre-amp and output  level but still no luck.

I am using the GT-10 to record and not the UX1, and I'll try to be a bit more specific.

I'm using my speakers as an amp, but my output is through the "Headphones" jack.  Now when I just have ableton open the distortion sounds great, but when I arm one of the audio tracks it sounds like it gets 4x the gain.

I Think I've been having the same issue I had the line 6 tone port and recently got an

m-audio delta 44 pci still getting fuzzy digital clipping on play-back. I thought it was too much distortion, latency/ram issues played with all those possiblities and its still there.

Have notice that when I export it and play it through a media player all hiss and distortion is gone.
