Default Velocity for new notes

I somehow changed the default velocity of new notes in a clip to a lousy little 12!  How do I change it back to an audible number?

Get the pen tool, click to draw a new note and hold the click down. Draw the mouse up and it will increase the velocity. Whatever velocity you stop on will be the default from then on.

in the Keyboard, you can set values from 10 to 10, by pressing C or V.

Cmd + Drag or Alt + Drag (up or down). Both set the default velocity to what you drag it to.

In Ableton 8.1 the velocities do not change when using the drum rack regardless of what I do, I am really begining to be very disappointed with Ableton, I don't need this, I just want to get on and make music, honestly Ableton, what the hell are you playing at
