ABLETON ANNOUNCES OEM AGREEMENT WITH CREATIVE

A SMALLER, ENTRY LEVEL VERSION OF LIVE TO BE BUNDLED WITH CREATIVE SOUND BLASTER AUDIGY 2 PLATINUM EX IN EUROPE.

Berlin, Germany - February 10, 2003 - Ableton, the Berlin-based music software company, today announced an OEM agreement with Creative, the worldwide leader in digital entertainment products for the personal computer and the Internet. Ableton's OEM version LIVE LE is being bundled with the new Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Platinum eX in Europe. Live LE is a special entry level version of Ableton's award-winning sequencing instrument LIVE for Mac OS 9, Mac OS X, and Windows. Users can upgrade LIVE LE to the full version of LIVE 2 if they wish to take advantage of LIVE's more advanced features such as Rewire support and MIDI sync.

Creative's Sound Blaster is a THX-certified consumer sound card capable of 6-channel DVD-Audio quality 24-bit/96kHz recording. This exciting new audio solution consists of an internal PCI card based on the Audigy 2 processor and the convenient and easy-to-use Audigy 2 External I/O Module, which gives users studio-quality connectivity through three analogue stereo connections, optical and coaxial digital I/O, full-sized MIDI I/O, and two SB1394(TM) (FireWire(R)) ports.

"We are very happy to have an entry level version of LIVE included in Creative's SoundBlaster Audigy 2 Platinum eX product in Europe" says Rutger de Groot, Commercial Director for Ableton AG. "We see this as a unique opportunity to show the power of LIVE to the users of Creative's impressing line of products".

"We spent a lot of time selecting what we considered to be the best titles available for our target market,' says Darragh O'Toole, European Brand Manager for Audio Products with Creative. 'Our aim was to provide a comprehensive 'out of the box' experience and we worked in conjunction with Ableton to bring its innovative and award winning software to our users. The combination of Ableton LIVE's Asio support and Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Platinum eX's low latency Asio drivers makes drag and drop remixing with real-time tweaking and audio stretching a painless, inspiring and highly effective alternative to conventional sequencing methods."
