The John Lennon Songwriting Contest and Educational Tour Bus

Ableton is a proud sponsor of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest and the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus. The contest is an international competition open year-round with prizes offered in twelve categories of music and with ninety-six winners each year. It's a great opportunity for songwriters, bands and producers to get their music heard by respected industry members.

The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus is an offshoot of the ten-year-old old John Lennon Songwriting Contest. It is a non-profit state-of-the-art mobile recording and multimedia studio that provides music and video education programs for young people. The bus travels across America year-round, providing free hands-on programs to hundreds of high schools, colleges, Boys and Girls Clubs, music festivals, concerts, conventions, and community organizations.

The interior of the bus is divided into two separate recording environments. The front studio offers the chance to participate in the creation of multimedia projects. Audio and video components are demonstrated, with visitors assisting in the recording and editing of original material. The back studio is a more traditional set-up for bands and the remote recording of concerts and special events. It features a full range of instruments including guitars, basses, keyboards, and drums. An onboard P.A. system facilitates live performances from a stage on the side of the bus.
