@nonnus

yeah the latency thing might be my end not software. I've not tested it properly yet, literally got excited and started controlling quite a heavy Ableton track I was writing.
Yeah the GUI thing could be really nice looking man, though i do actually like it's current 'rawness' too...

great that you went straight into using it on your productions !!!!
this the true spirit of this beta test

so you are using a 1st gen device, need to note that down, you are the 1st

as i explained before the id is needed for the iphone ad hoc distribution,
you can google on the subject to confirm
also i doubt anything malicious can be done with that data

but rest assured that :

-i ask this info to be sent only thru private channel, pm, email, msn
-i delete all posts with user device ids,
-i do not keep any record of them except in the dev program portal where they had to be inserted for the app to work in your device, and they will be deleted as soon as the beta testing ends

btw, i hope apple implements a friendly beta process as it is a PITA to have to insert a device id and generate a new ad hoc profile everytime a new user joins the beta,
i basically done it all day long, so pls forgive me the moaning

unfortunatelly you are not currently listed in the beta test,
so i suppose you re not talking about itouchmid latency...
are you aware of such issues with other apps ?
Yes, there's a fairly significant latency with BeatMaker and Band. It's been talked about on other forums as well; with some noticing latency on non-music apps as well.

ah,
i never tried those apps, it is a shame....
but it might have to do with sound generation delays
something not applicable to iTM 8)

i know i am suspicious but with my 3g device everybody who has tried iTM has been impressed with the response,

only when i tried a scrolling keyboard (where you go up and down by scrolling)
i started to find some lags and abandoned it right away for up down buttons

do these apps you mentioned have scrolling behavior ?

Just checking in - "the app with no name" is running flawlessly on my iPod Touch. Painless setup and absolutely no issue with latency that I can detect. Playing with the xy pad, switching clips with the matrix and playing softsynths with the keyboard all work great in Live 7.0.9. :D for the mixer: this is gonna be one sweet app.

Oh yeah: the barebones UI is kinda growing on me 8)

I'd love to try this on my iPod Touch, but I'm only running 10.4.11

First-year students at Med School were receiving their first anatomy class with a real dead human body.

They all gathered around the surgery table with the body covered with a white sheet.

The professor started the class by telling them, "In medicine, it is necessary to have two important qualities as a doctor The first is that you not be disgusted by anything involving the human body."

For example, the Professor pulled back the sheet, stuck his finger in the butt of the corpse, withdrew it and stuck it in his mouth. "Go ahead and do the same thing," he told his students.

The students freaked out, hesitated for several minutes, but eventually took turns sticking a finger in the butt of the dead body and sucking on it.

When everyone finished, the Professor looked at them and told them, "The second most important quality is observation. I stuck my middle finger in and sucked on my index finger.

"Now learn to pay attention."

Oof. I'm jealous. And this is all done via wifi, correct? With some sort of virtual MIDI port?

Yeah, and it's totally painless. Run the iTunesMidi app on the Mac, enable the virtual midi port it creates in Live prefs, load iTunesMidii on the iPod Touch, and select your Mac from the list of iTouchMidi Servers and pick a control mode. And there you go. Less than a minute after you've done it once.

I wish all network apps could be this simple.
