wish there was... maybe there is but I haven't found it

only tip I can offer is:

1. to workout which track is clipping the most, and work out by how much.

2. put a Utility plugin on, and adjust the dB to correct the problem

3. copy that same Utility to every track

...but I hope I've been doing this the hard way, and that someone has an easier solution. (shift-select would be nice!)

the suggestion with the master is actually a good one. if you do not want to touch the master per se, sonalksis is offering a free great plugin called the 'freeG' that you could insert on your master.

is there no way to group tracks so that pulling down one fader would pull down the fader of other tracks in a group?

Perhaps I've gotten too used to working in pro tools, but this seems like pretty basic functionality working with a mixer...(at least on a computer)

you could just create a new track and use that as a group track by routing all your tracks to the new track, turning on Monitor In and then adjust the overall output of your new track..

Live does not allow for the same style of control as PT. but it certainly has the same functional control as you demand.

You can 1. use the master fader like people suggest
2. Create a sub-mix channel for finer control
3. you can even create a macro to control multiple utility volume pots, inside one rack (multiple lanes of fx on one track)

but you can't group faders like you can in Pro Tools, at least not internally.

just set all the channels to a controller fader, set the max/min DB for each track,
Simple as that

...assuming you're routing everything via the master channel, and not using any direct channel outputs.

can't you just map the same midi knob to all the faders?

Greetings, mikevandee.

Actually there is. OK, this might help.

In Live, there is a new feature, where one midi control can be assigned to multiple controls on LIVE. So, if you dedicate one midi control on your board, and map all the faders, that might work. You have to make sure though, that while mapping, you keep the range for all of them the same.

Personally, I'd just use the master fader, but the above trick might work for you.

Cheers,
