to be honest that was only tested with output and midi - but it definitely worked fine on 64 samples (not ms) - I was amazed, but someone round here said it was probably to do with how the firewire ports connected to the machine - i.e. straight into the processor board or something - so it would vary from machine to machine. The pismo is still regarded by some to be the best designed powerbook because of its adaptability - but it gets let down by the inability to upgrade the processor above 900mhz or the video ram to more than 8mb- but it takes 1gb ram

I dont really use the 410 with the mac though so I havent tested it much

okay, I feel better, and yet worse at the same time.

Anybody able to get under 12 ms when montoring audio input with a 410?

Kabuki, that's exactly what I wanted, to use trigga for creating ghost notes
I don't think it sounds bad if you just make it slightly audible, I do it in fL studio and you can really get those nice ghost drum hits easily, trying to duplicate that in Live.

yeah, put strigga on the sends, and send your drums to that. works best if you have a seperate track for each drum (ie kick, snare, hats, ...) you can adjust amount with both rearrang prob. in st and the send knob in Live, though I tend to go full throttle in both. Also, assign some midi buttons to switch st from 4-8-16-32-... slices at the push of a single button--cool for cuttin it up.

I think it will probably come down how the developer of the plugin conceived his VST ID [that's what I think it is ]... and how Live reads this

Next question would be , if you have the AudioUnit version of a plugin that windows has vst version off , would it recognise ?

Hey Mbazzy, got the email. I forgot to mention that I am running Live 2. Had a problem there so I downloaded the live 3 demo and used it to open your file. Found one supatrigga on track one so your transfer should go fine.

Sent you an email to the same effect.

As far as the au's I don't know. Live 3 doesn't host au's right? If it does let me know and I will install the supatrigga au and remove the vst from my directory and try it again.

Next week I can go pick up a 12' 1ghz ibook with 756 Mb Ram [ 256 fixed +512] and Lacie Porsche 160 gb @ 7200 rpm ext. HD ...

Now I still have to settle on a small audio interface ... main use is just for playing out .. . so don't really need the big multi i/o hitters ...

midi i/o would be nice ... edirol ua20 anyone, tascam us122 ...?

Was never very usb-audio minded but if there 's Just a good simple audiointerface that works rocksolid on the ibook to be ... why not ...

Firewire is worth the price increase for the better reliability. The firewire protocol allows for truly sample accurate delivery of data built into the specification, USB does not... So on a USB audio device it is entirely up to how well the driver was written. Check this little puppy out:

Yeah, the Quatafire was quite high on my list b4 ... a little reluctant 'cause it's so brand new ... and for the moment a little too pricey I fear ... if the ibook had a pcmcia I'd go for the indigo i/o ... a pity there are no "simple" 2 i/o FW devices ..yet ...

My new PB 1.5Ghz 15" has 24bit 44.1 kHz built in audio. Interestingly, the new 17" PB 1.5 Ghz only does 16bit 44.1kHz.
