Just making sure, so that there is no confusion... Live 8 supports the regular "Channel Pressure" variety of Aftertouch just fine, i.e. it is being forwarded to an instrument just as it should, and also recorded normally.

I tested this with Zebra 2 just now, as I got a new PCR-500 keyboard :)

yup, looking for polyphonic aftertouch not channel. need this for an app called Symphonic Choirs (to be able to run it as a vst inside live). not the end of the world if they don't ever implement it, but it sure would be a nice feature to have.

Yeah, gotcha, and I agree. I wrote the above mostly because of the first reply, which just states that he "discovered that Live doesn't record aftertouch, also it cannot thru the message to an instrument", as it can give the casual reader an impression it's not supported at all :)

But yes, Symphonic Choirs is exactly why I would like to use polyphonic aftertouch in Live, some day, too. (I don't own the library, but have seen/heard the impressive demos, and my school just licensed a copy. Can't wait to try it out.)

Yes Polyphonic Aftertouch is sorely missed - I recently invested in a new keyboard just to get access to that feature - and spent an hour to figure out why the feature did not work through ableton live 8 :( .
It not occur to me that Ableton didn't support a feature of the Midi Standard 8O

I hope this will be included soon - I recognize that it may impact performance (it sort of crowds the midi channel) but at least include it as a enable/disable feature or allow it to pass through Ableton.

Otherwise thnx for a great product.

Yes, I've got synths that send and receive poly aftertouch. I find it frustrating that Live should filter out messages on midi tracks at all, or at least not make this configurable. I have Live set up sometimes as a very complex midi router and processor, and some things are extremely annoying, despite the extensive routing power that's in there.

it's been far too long since I've made some noise about this!
