CROSSFADES for audio regions, please

Even cheap programs have this.
I am surprised Ableton, the #1 DAW, is exhibiting this form of retardation.[/b]

This must be like the 10th time I ask for rhis, but I'll continue to until Ableton finally listens!
Also, I would much rather an implementation in which you click-select an area in the audio region(s) and hit Ctrl+F (a la Pro Tools), instead of the more unpractical "handles" approach (a la Tracktion and others).

I tell you what we do, we spend too much time unnecessarily trying to fix it with volume automation......

Oh... thats what i thought someone would say... i was really beginning to enjoy how quickly this program was working for me but this is a serious set back in production time.

Totally agree. Live is almost there for me as my only DAW, but crossfades are a serious omission for my workflow!

If I am double posting, well dang it this subject deserves it!
If I could add just ONE thing to live, it'd be the ability to crossfade two overlapping clips on one track in the arrangement view.
Then, Live is perfect.
Boo to clicky transitions!

hey crossfade requesters...what exactly needs fixing that the automatic fade feature in live doesn't fix? i haven't used crossfading since i ditched protools years ago, and am just curious what the specific needs are. i'm not saying its not needed, i'm just curious why...thanks!

ah, so long crossfades for proper mixing of different takes? or hard edits between words? in my experience when i have a bunch of vocal takes, i generally have one master that i drag all the best parts to, but never have the need to do any considerable crossfades. someone further up the page mentioned editing out clicks, which is pretty much automated in live. (i have nightmares about my days in protools manually crossfading thousands of edits). my biggest question mark with the concept is how crossfade files would translate to the clip concept and session view...independent 'crossfade' clips maybe? just seems to conflict with the way live is structured. but you would know better. hi from seattle btw...i'm longjohn's cousin, he mentioned meeting you at the ableton camp a few months back.

I often get a pop at the cut despite Live "taking care of it".
