Remember midi

I'm using ableton for a while now, but I still have a question. When you have a midi controller and you configure that for example the 'amount' of a filter is controlled by one specific button, how can you save these settings so everytime I open a new Live set, and I insert that specific filter that my midi-controller is automaticly works on those buttons?
I hope you guys understand what I mean...
