I love to see the Racks to be modulated by:

a XY pad for all 8 Macro dials,

or LFO's that can modulate the Macro dials..

Yes please! Also an audio level envelope follower to macro level modulator, for making envelope based effects and sidechains.

I have noticed we have many similar ideas. :D

and the envelopes..

if even 1 of these 3 will ever make it into Live I can trash alot of other softs..

and for those who might be interested in a sort of 'pseudo' envelope;

On that trigger envelope I would add a context sensitve area for macro mapping that would have the following pararmeters per macro 1-8.

-Max
-Min

Where Max can be <= Min

That way you could easily make the envelope unipolar and negative or bipolar with an offset, or anything else...

You did get that I was asking for an envelope that takes an audio input in my 1st post right?

That trigger one looks cool but is a slightly different idea.

What I had in mind would take audio and follow the peak/RMS of the input (much like a compressor or enveolped filter) and apply the enveloped level as a signal to a macro knob. (With Min/Max applied per macro)

Parameters would be something like,

-Threshold
-Delay
-Attack
-Hold
-Decay
-Global time multiplier .1-5.0 [default 1]
-Shape
-Peak/RMS/Hilbert Peak/Hilbert RMS
-L/R/L+R
-Look ahead 0/1ms/10ms

(Maybe SAH?)

yep..
but I thought a midi envelope would be a more suitable option to be integrated in the racks..
This way you could really 'play' a macro..

a standalone audio envelope follower would be great as well..
in fact I rather see all those devices as standalones but for some it would be kind of tricky how to assign to parameters..

I'm excited about the racks too. But please don't make it super-confusing - it's already cumbersome to keep the overview. 2ct

actually what I requested isn't that advanced or confusing at all..
All 3 option are already present in Live;
- XY pads are on various plugins..
- LFO's are on various plugins..
- Envelopes are on all instruments (not Impulse)

Ofcourse the Racks look confusing when first presented but all new features on any update need some time to fully understand..

I think my request is not even half as complicated as a rack can be..

Agreed, and to make a point, it would be easy enough to just not use if you find that stuff confusing. (althoguh I know that's a bit of a cop-out)

been wishing for these for a while. one of the reasons I still use Reason so much is due to these functions.
