Live 2.1.1 very slow

Hello,
I just began on a new remix, yes I use live for remixing. The problem is with Live 2.1.1.
I use big files, songs from four to six minutes and paste them in a Clip Slot to set the tempo right. This takes a long time. It takes five to ten times it takes with version 2.03. Am I the only one?
At the moment I'm back to 2.03 which works great, with a few minor bugs I can live with.
Intel Pentium III 1Ghz, 512MB ECC memory
Live 2.1.1 (Windows)
Windows XP Professional (US) SP1 (With the latest patches)
Echo Layla24 (Driver version 6.08
Nvidia Riva TNT2 Model 64 (version 6.14.10.4403)
