or point me to a good tutorial?
i am new to Live, so i don't know how to phrase this really, but i am looping at getting a RC-50 foot pedal for looping. but i have a spiffy new macbook pro and, while i understand the dependability of a pedal, it might be cost effective and more in line with my workflow to use live.
but this all depends on how crazy i have to get to use either a foot controller or my triggerfinger to move around and record into Live.
i want to do something like what kid beyond does ...
Can someone explain recording loops live?
search for "live" and "looping" for tons of info, like on this thread, which answers your question:

bottom line--you are on track. Live is a very powerful looping tool, and has MANY advantages over the rc-20 and rc-50. However, read my caveats on this thread--sadly Live 4 and 5 have made it hard/impossible to delete messed up clips on the fly with a midi footboard. I'm still stuck using ver3 for performances with Live. A midi footboard like the fcb 1010 is very helpful. good luck.
