Ableton 11: Assign Macro Variations to a Macro or make it automateable

Hi together,
i'm searching for a possibility to do like i ask in the topic but cant find a way it works. over the MIDI-mapping some keys are showing to do this steps. but assign a MIDI-key mapped option are not able to assign to a macro (or i'm to stupid for that).
to the background:
push 2:
live i want to play at the same pad (push 2) maybe a kick. i created some variations of that kick. now i want to use a macro to scroll/switch between this variations live. with this i only have one pad, instead of each per variation.
producing:
instead of create an own track, or assign a pad in drum rack per variation i need to assign the "scroll/switch" mode to an automation. with this i can use only one track, but be able to create different kicks over the automation in this track.
maybe someone has an idea. i'm stuck on it and wonder, why it is not possible over the "normal/easy" way ableton does all other macro/automation-assigns. without this possibilities macro variations make no sense at this point. it is nice to create them. but the potential of it is missing, if everyone cant work with it (my opinion).
thanks and regards
marc
