Problem: Duplicate/Multiple Samples

Recently I've been noticing multiple copies of audio files that I am using from both my custom sample Library and Default ableton one.

Would anyone be able to help me with this issue? The files are normally followed by a series of 1's, of which I presume is the amount of duplicates it is making. Can someone explain why or how this is happening? It becomes annoying having 3 copies of the same sample and also takes up space when you've got as many as I have!

For example, the sample would be named Snare.wav, and then there is another one called Snare 1.wav, and then another one called Snare 1-1.wav

Hopefully I've made myself clear, would love to know how to clean this up and stop it happening!

Any help appreciated, thank you!

Have you found any more information about this?

Live doesn't really duplicate files, unless the user explicitly told it to.

This is a real problem for me. I'm getting multiple projects with many duplicates of samples with a "-1" or in some cases "-1-1" at the end. Anyone know the reason for this, or how to avoid it?

I'm assuming you're using a Mac? Because these copies are created by Finder if during a copy action someone chooses not to overwrite but to have multiple copies of a already existing file

No PC. Windows has a similar option but I always skip when asked to add the same files when I combine folders.
