groove templates, & allow swing to modify grid
groove templates, & allow swing to modify grid
2 big & kinda related feature requests:
1) allowing the global swing setting to modify the grid, so that audio can be chopped & quantised according to the global swing setting... atm if the project is at 25 swing and you chop up & edit audio loops on the arrange page, it snaps/quantises to 0 swing, which is kinda counter-intuitive... atm the only workaround really is to edit loops, consolidate & then warp them, which can then degrade the quality of the loop because its now timestretching to give u the groove...
2) groove template support, similar to cubase/nuendo... it would be really great to have this supported as above, i.e. it changes the grid/quantisation lines on the arrange page, but what would make this KILLER would be to add your own groove templates to those currently available under BEATS mode... i.e. import a loop, find hitpoint, create groove template for BEATS which then appears under along with 1/16, 1/8 etc under the BEATS menu... this one might be a little tricky to do, but it would be crazily mad to have as a feature

agreed, but at least in the meantime, you can export midi files SUPER easily, and keep a library of them to easily drag in later.
one of my faves- CTRL + SHIFT + E = midi file export. its already named the clips name too, so igreat for lazy peeps like me.

my favorites at the moment: MASSIVE. FM8. LIVE 6. Bome's Pro. KORE.
groove templates is the only BIG one I still want for LIVE
LIVE 5 rules.. I'm loving everything about it but being able to quantize some impulse beats to a groove template would be icing on the cake
we already have the warp markers, why not just extract the groove from those and have it applicable to the midi track quantize.. or be able to adjust grid markers to midi clips
also for AUDIO, we need a better way to save the warp markers so that the groove can be applied to other clips..
as it stands right now, if you move the warp markers on the transients of a loop and then apply those warp markers to a straight loop, the groove will be backwards.. i.e. a snare that came later on the first loop will come early for the loop that we apply the groove markers to
I know this is coming... for now I'll stick to FL Studio for grooves

I'd like some nice groove control too. Donno logic, but cubase one is not bad at all.
Then I love the fact too that the grid moves with the groove amout, then the notes are actually pushed, and if you come back to a non grooved grid, the grooved notes stay where they are, meaning not quantized straight, then you can mix content in a single midi file...
I'm quite sure we'll see things like that not to far in the future.
