Live 5: Longer Ping-Pong delay for FREEZING!

The new "f" symbol that lets you freeze a loop in the Ping-Pong Delay is fantastic! This makes for a built in "feedback-overdub-looper". Kudos to Ableton for that! It would just be so much cooler if the plug-in could do longer delays as well. Four or even eiight bars would be very useful. Maybe this could be easily fixed by putting a mulitplyer drop-down menu in the plug? Kind of multiplies the synced delay time values with 2, 4, 8 or 16. (16 only for users with lots of RAM in their lappy).

EDIT: I don't mean the timing values 1 to 16 that is already there. My wish is to simply multiply these values with a multiplier of choice.

It would also be cool with a pitch transpose knob in combination with that freeze function!

hello,
I agree...
I would be great to extend that Idea and create a new Live-PlugIn. A real Live-Looping-Tool for Instrument-Players. (like Echoplex or ExpertSleepers AugustusLoop).

with big hope

+1 for longer delay times.... especially in not synced mode, now limit is 200 ms.

A second wish for this Ping Pong Freezing:
The littel "F" symbol (the freeze button) is not available as a Clip Envelope parameter. Please bring it into the Clip Envelopes!

none of the buttons are available in the clip envelopes, not even the on/off buttons for presets... :(

I'm using a workaround to automate those buttons. I'm putting some midi cc or note data in a midi clip, set the track to "output: IAC bus (+midi channel)". Then I mute every other midi going through the system and midi learn it in the Ping Pong. I like to set the trigger clip (the midi clip) quantiization to a 16th note and then I assign that trigger clip to a key or midi pedal.

With this arrangement I can "cut in" exactly on sixteenths into the Ping Pong delay loop. Cool in many ways.

For this to work you must activate the IAC as "Remote" in the preferences. IAC bus are the internal midi pipe lines in OSX on a Mac. For Win XP I think there are utility application that can give a similar option. Or you could simply make a midi feadback hardeware loop over any USB midi device or whatever.

yeah, you can do a whole lot of tricks with midi in/out schemes like that - it's a real shame that it isn't directly available...

please excuse my ignorance, but what do you call IAC bus ? Your technique is not clear for me...
