Basic Max question

Does anyone know if the present non-Live version of Max can create stand-alone and/or VST versions of Max patches? or does the Max SDK environment need to be running all the time on your machine. Or is there a 'runtime'?

I did try to find the answer to these questions on the Cycling site but couldn't

Thanks

stand alone yes, plug-ins no.

the plug-in system is known as 'pluggo' and it will be available for max 5 but its not ready yet. probably because they've been busy doing the Max for live stuff.

thats what i've understood from reading the c74 forum anyway :)
