Ableton support dept. rocks!

Post by AaronShaver » Mon Nov 03, 2008 11:36 pm

I bought Ableton Live 7 LE on Friday night, spent most of the weekend playing with it. I found what I thought might be a bug, so I emailed support. Not only did they get back to me the next business day, but their answer was courteous and it told me exactly how to fix the problem (it was user error... oops).

I also recommended a feature for future versions. Their response? Oh yeah, we are already working on that. :-)

Awesome software and a great company too.

You left out the part about how cool the people that frequent the forum are!

Ableton support does rock. Some of the best in the bizz. I also think NI support is great. Almost as good as Ableton. Cakewalk, could learn a thing or two, from these companies.

Hah! This was a fairly obscure bit of knob-twiddling that wasn't covered by the manual, I don't think.

Ableton support is very good. They have always got back to me very quickly and were very quick to give me extra unlocks when I moved pc's.

Out of interest, what was the feature you requested?

As well as Logic/Apple support.... you have to pay after 90 days for Logic support.

NI support has gotten a lot better, it's still very much a matter of actually calling them though. With emails they always seem to get the wrong message, and answer with something you already tried that you thought you explained clearly. That's pretty much every company though.... :?

Ableton is the best support I've ever had. My 3 enquiries were dealt with within 2 business days and to good effect.

I won't get into the worst, but most of my other DAW experiences and software experiences in general have been quite awful. Another German company that translates into 'stone mountain' if you take the 2 seperate syllables was the opposite to Ableton.

The only other people I think I've had good experiences with are Ralph Zeuner, from Drumstix, Aleksy Vaneev from Voxengo and U-He makers of Zebra. Oh and Arturia, although this improved recently when they got a new tracking database, my initial enquiries took forever to be answered.

At least my communications with Noel Borthwick of Cakewalk have always been a pleasure. He's very knowledgeable and helpful and provided results. My experience with NI were so and so, very willing to help but sometimes lacking results. Ableton Support also tries to be very helpful, I'm still waiting for a whole couple of results though. "Trying" sometimes is not enough.
