As an experienced performer and troubleshooter, Danielle Thwaites builds, programs and designs Ableton Live sets for artists looking to integrate laptops and digital technologies into their workflow and stage setup. As an educator and Ableton Certified Trainer, she offers personalized one-on-one and group lessons from her recording studio and online, and leads workshops ranging from introductory to advanced concepts.

Danielle began writing music and lyrics at an early age, accompanying herself on guitar and making bedroom demos in GarageBand. In college, she took her first music technology course which opened the door to production, engineering and sound design. In 2017, Danielle graduated with a dual BA in Electronic Production & Design and Contemporary Writing & Production from Berklee College of Music.

Since 2016, she has been teaching and working with Women Make Noise (formerly Beats By Girlz) and served a board member of the nonprofit, as well as program director and Los Angeles chapter lead. In 2018, Danielle began teaching at the Ableton Certified Training Center, Beat Lab Academy, covering topics such as synthesis, sound design, music theory, mixing, mastering, engineering, live performance and Max for Live.

As an artist, Danielle performs, writes and produces under the moniker Daiza, creating avant-pop music by manipulating original analog recordings from our world, flowered with her hazy, synthetic sound design. Known for incorporating new advances in music technology both in the studio and on the stage, Daiza’s performances always feature creative use of the latest in music tech while maintaining the integrity of the guitar and human voice.
